Staff Summary
· The northwest forcemain is a 30-inch diameter pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe that conveys sanitary sewage from the East Main Pump Station on Long Lake to a discharge point on Wilson Road.
· This pressure pipe was originally installed in 1980 and requires inspection to assess corrosion and structural integrity.
· Pure Technologies US, Inc., has been identified as the most qualified firm to perform the necessary engineering services to determine condition and useful life.
· This resolution authorizes the Purchasing Agent to execute the agreement.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains the East Main Pump Station and the Northwest Force Main serving the Northwest Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, the force main was originally constructed in 1980 and now requires inspection for interior corrosion and assessment of current structural integrity; and

WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires pipe assessment related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and

WHEREAS, Pure Technologies US, Inc. is qualified to provide the specialized assessment related services for this project; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department solicited and received statements of qualification from professional engineering firms in accordance with the Quality Based Selection process for the Northwest Forcemain Assessment 2012 Project ; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department evaluated the statement of qualifications based on several criteria and determined that Pure Technologies was the most qualified firm to provide professional engineering services for this project; and
