· Grass Lake Road Pedestrian/Bicycle Path Tunnel, Lindenhurst Park District; Agreement and Appropriation.
· The Lindenhurst Park District plans to construct, own, and maintain a pedestrian/bicycle path tunnel connecting McDonald Woods Forest Preserve to the Park District’s Oak Ridge Park, and connecting to future pedestrian/bicycle accommodations along Grass Lake Road as part of the planned Milburn Bypass Project.
· The Lindenhurst Park District has additional partnerships with the Village of Lindenhurst, Lake Villa Township, Milburn West School, and the Lake County Forest Preserve District regarding this improvement.
· The County’s participation in the project is for a portion of the Phase II design engineering.
· This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement with the Lindenhurst Park District for the completion of the Phase II design engineering
· This resolution also appropriates $80,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for the County’s financial participation.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Grass Lake Road, County Highway 18, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

WHEREAS, in order to provide for the free flow of traffic, and ensure the safety of the motoring public, the Lindenhurst Park District proposes to improve Grass Lake Road, and the pedestrian accommodations, by constructing a pedestrian/bicycle path tunnel under Grass Lake Road connecting McDonald Woods Forest Preserve to the Park District’s Oak Ridge Park, and connecting to the future...
