Resolution authorizing a contract with KJWW Engineering Consultants, Chicago, Illinois, for the modification and the replacement of the building ventilation system in the Lake County Administrative Tower in the amount of $100,350.
Staff Summary
· Lake County has a need to modify and increase the building ventilation system below Lincoln Plaza, in the Administrative Tower.
· A new building ventilation system will meet new building code standards for ventilation requirements and accommodate the installation of a solid underground entrance door.
· Funding for the replacement of the ventilation system was approved as part of the 2012 CCIP Facility Assessment Process, and incorporated into the Adopted 2012 Budget.
· KJWW Engineering Consultants has completed a Phase I engineering study of the building ventilation system.
· The County has a long standing, working relationship with the firm, and has selected them to complete the project in compliance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act.

WHEREAS, The County is proposing to install additional building ventilation fans and replace the existing exhaust system below Lincoln Plaza at 18 N County St; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-101 (3) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the County has a long standing working relationship with KJWW Engineering Consultants; and
WHEREAS, KJWW Engineering Consultants submitted a proposal for architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering for a building ventilation system design at 18 N County St; and
WHEREAS, KJWW Engineering Consultants, shall provide construction administration for said building ventilation system as part of the submitted proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with KJWW Engineering Consultants to provide construction documents and construction administration for the modificat...
