Staff Summary
· Lake County has received a third and final year of funding in the amount of $208,333 for a drug court enhancement project from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the period September 30, 2012 - September 29, 2013.
· The 19th Judicial Circuit will use the grant funds to continue a contract with Haymarket to provide recovery coaches for TIM Court participants. Intensive case management services provided by the coaches include two evidence-based practices: motivational interviewing and contingency management.
· There is no local match for this grant.
· This resolution authorizes the acceptance of the grant and appropriates the $208,333 in grant funding.

Body
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit’s drug court program known as the Therapeutic and Intensive Monitoring (TIM) Court received a $208,333 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in 2010 that was renewable for two additional years; and

WHEREAS, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration recently informed the 19th Judicial Circuit that it has been awarded Year Three funding in the amount of $208,333; and

WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit is using these grant funds to work with the Haymarket Center’s recovery coaches to provide TIM Court participants with intensive case management services during the clients’ transition from treatment back to the community; and

WHEREAS, these services will extend and enhance the recovery-oriented system of care in Lake County to reduce criminal behavior and improve recovery outcomes among TIM Court participants; and
