R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cedar Lake Road, County Highway 28, and Monaville Road, County Highway 55, are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Cedar Lake Road and Monaville Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare to the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Cedar Lake Road at Monaville Road could be improved; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement to utilize federal highway funds for the relocation of the gas main (within an existing easement) at the intersection of Cedar Lake Road at Monaville Road prior to the planned intersection improvement setting forth the terms and obligations to each agency, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, federal funds totaling $262,562, and requiring a 20 percent local share of the total cost, will be reimbursed to Lake County; and
