Staff Summary
• The Lake County Sheriff’s Department desires to enter into a contract with L3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc., for 32 wireless In-Car Video Equipment.
• Requests for Proposals were called for by publication and extended to 32 potential vendors and sealed proposals were received and opened from nine firms on April 5, 2012.
• A selection committee comprised of staff from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the Purchasing Division reviewed all proposals and recommended L3 Communications Mobil-Vision, Inc., as the firm that best meets the needs of the County based upon the evaluation criteria of the Request for Proposal.

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Request for Proposals were called for by publication for In-Car Video Equipment; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication of the Request for Proposal sealed proposals were received from nine firms on April 5, 2012; and
WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposal for In-Car Video Equipment it has been determined that the proposal submitted by L3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Boonton, NJ, is the most favorable for Lake County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to enter into a two-year contract with renewal options with L3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc., in the annual amount not to exceed $275,456 for the In-Car Video Equipment charging the costs to account 101-1102050-84020-11030.
