Staff Summary
· The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) has been awarded $66,399 in CDBG funding by the Lake County Community Development Commission to complete a streambank stabilization project on Kellogg Creek in the City of Zion, Illinois.
· The grant will provide partial funding for the construction of the streambank stabilization project, which is located in District 4, at the southeast corner of the intersection of Lewis Avenue and Illinois Route 173.
· The streambank stabilization project will provide a long-lasting solution to what has become a significant streambank erosion issue and a threat to the safety of persons residing in the immediate surrounding area.

WHEREAS, the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission has been awarded $66,399 in Community Development Block Grant funding by the Lake County Community Development Commission for the implementation of a streambank stabilization project on Kellogg Creek in the City of Zion, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant funding is not currently included in the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission’s Fiscal Year 2012 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, to authorize an emergency appropriation in the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission’s Fiscal Year 2012 budget (expense budget account 212-4202170-79950) in the amount of $66,399 to allow for the utilization of the Community Development Block Grant funds; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to authorize a concurrent increase in the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission’s Fiscal Year 2012 budget (revenue budget account 212-4202170-45334), in the amount of $66,399, to allow for receipt of the Community Development Blo...
