Staff Summary
· The Vernon Hills WRF is a major wastewater treatment plant that provides services for the Villages of Vernon Hills, Mettawa, Indian Creek and unincorporated portions of Central Lake County.
· This project includes engineering services for replacement of one existing aeration blower with a new high efficiency blower and D.O. controls for the purpose of reducing electrical power costs.
· The County determined that Clark Deitz Inc. was the most qualified firm to provide professional engineering services for this project in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act.
· This resolution authorizes the Purchasing Agent to execute an agreement for professional services with Clark Deitz Inc. of Kenosha, Wisconsin in the amount of $60,550.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns, operates and maintains the Vernon Hills NCT Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) serving the Southeast Central Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, improvements and upgrades to the Vernon Hills NCT Water Reclamation Facility are necessary to serve the communities within the facilities planning area and to satisfy regulatory requirements of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; and

WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this project, the County requires design related services from an engineering firm qualified in this type of engineering; and

WHEREAS, Clark Dietz, Inc. is qualified to provide the specialized design related services for this project; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department solicited and received statement of qualifications from professional engineering firms in accordance with the Quality Based Selection process;...
