· The State of Illinois proposes to add LED and uninterruptible power supplies, and the addition of countdown pedestrian signals, at 13 intersections within the Villages of Buffalo Grove and Libertyville in response to the 2011 summer storms.
· This is part of the first phase of a larger project for the entire County.
· The County’s portion of this improvement is for the local match along County highways.
· This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement with the State of Illinois for this improvement and appropriates $25,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, by and through its Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), proposes to improve 13 intersections within the Villages of Buffalo Grove and Libertyville by adding LED and uninterruptible power supplies, and the addition of countdown pedestrian signals at thirteen intersections; and
WHEREAS, IDOT will utilize federal highway funding for this improvement; and
WHEREAS, the County portion of said improvement is for the local share along county highways; and
WHEREAS, IDOT and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for said improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for the improvement of 13 traffic control signals within the Villages of Buffal...
