Resolution approving a County Board policy for "County Board Member Special Recognitions."
Staff Summary
· Board members from time to time have requested County Board recognition for the achievements or accomplishments of an individual, business, school, or civic organization.
· These recognitions have historically been referred to as "resolutions" but have typically not been approved by the full County Board.
· This Resolution establishes criteria and a process for a County Board member to request a "County Board Member Special Recognition" that does not require full County Board approval.
· Under the proposed policy, a "County Board Member Special Recognition" will be drafted by Board staff, sent to the Communications staff for review, and signed by the Board member(s) initiating the request.
· This "County Board Special Recognition" process will be considered for incorporation of the "County Board Rules of Order and Operational Procedures" at the next meeting of the Rules Committee.

R E SO L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Board members from time to time have requested County Board recognition for the achievements or accomplishments of an individual, business, school or civic organization; and
WHEREAS, the "Policy for County Board Member Special Recognitions" establishes criteria and a process for a County Board member to request a "County Board Member Special Recognition;" and
WHEREAS, County Board members shall request "County Board Member Special Recognitions" in adherence with the criteria and process outlined in the policy; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lake County Board approves the attached "Policy for County Board Member Special Recognitions."
