Joint resolution authorizing the execution of Amendment 1 to the agreement for the use of federal highway funds between the State of Illinois/Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Lake County for the improvements to Wadsworth Road at Green Bay Road designated as Section 03-00033-12-CH.
Staff Summary
· Wadsworth Road at Green Bay Road Intersection Improvement, Phase II Supplemental: IDOT Agreement.
· The County has been allocated federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds to widen and reconstruct this section of Wadsworth Road and Green Bay Road and IDOT administers all federal highway funds.
· The Phase II design engineering scope of work is being expanded to provide for redesigning the signals’ interconnect system from wireless to a buried cable system not anticipated in the original design.
· This agreement allows for the County to receive 80% reimbursement for the cost of this Amendment 1.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wadsworth Road, County Highway 17, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Wadsworth Road and IL Route 131 could be improved by widening and resurfacing; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting of February 12, 2008, authorized the execution of an agreement to utilize federal highway funds for the above-proposed improvement; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting of February 12, 2008, appropriated $600,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds to provide for the Phase II design engineering services for the above-proposed this improvement; and
WHEREAS, supplemental Phase II design engineering services are necessary for the above-proposed this improvement; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an Amendment 1 to the agreement to utilize federal highway funds for the above-proposed supplemental Phase II design engineering servic...
