· DCEO has provided a new grant and a modification to the existing CM grant to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $96,098.
· The modification to the existing grant in the amount of $53,672 is for the fiscal year October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012.
· The new grant in the amount of $42,426 is for the fiscal year November 1, 2011 to September 30, 2013.
· This funding is expected to cover case management services for workers certified as eligible under the Act and affected by fifteen plant closings or lay-offs.
· An emergency appropriation of $96,098 is requested to be approved to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department's county fiscal year 2012 budget and authorize acceptance of this modification.

WHEREAS, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a new grant and a modification to the existing 1E Case Management grant to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $96,098 and,
WHEREAS, The modification to the existing grant in the amount of $53,672 is for the fiscal year October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012
WHEREAS, this new grant in the amount of $42,426 is for the fiscal year October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012, and
WHEREAS, this funding is expected to cover case management services for workers affected and certified as eligible from fifteen plant closing and lay-offs;
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $96,098 is requested to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department's county fiscal year 2012 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $96,098 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the 1E Case Management grant be accepted. A chart of accounts is attached.
