Resolution amending a previous resolution designating the voting sites assigned to the 481 voting precincts in Lake County townships.
Staff Summary
• Precinct voting sites countywide are being consolidated into multiple precinct voting sites due to increased voting options such as early voting, no excuse absentee voting, and grace period voting.
• These consolidations will help offset increased costs due to newly mandated voting options.
• Relocates precincts to voting sites which have sufficient parking and space as well as full accessibility for all voters.
• Additionally, a few sites are no longer available to serve as voting sites (declined, renovation, etc.) requiring a new location for these precincts.
Body
WHEREAS, Lake County has 481 voting precincts in 18 townships; and
WHEREAS, precinct voting sites countywide are being consolidated into multiple precinct voting sites due to increased voting options such as early voting, no excuse absentee voting, and grace period voting; and
WHEREAS, these consolidations will help offset increased costs due to new, mandated voting options; and
WHEREAS, precincts are being relocated to voting sites which have sufficient parking and space as well as full accessibility for all voters; and
WHEREAS, a few sites have declined to continue as a voting site or other sites are undergoing renovations requiring a new location for these affected precincts.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, the attached “Exhibit A” sets forth the voting sites assigned to the affected precincts, which are identified by their name and location.
