RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the current Distributed Amplifier System (DAS) system is over 10 years old and is not performing as expected; and

WHEREAS, this was discovered in mid-March when high winds took out a radio antenna on the Waukegan campus; and

WHEREAS, a bid exemption meeting was held as only Motorola can provide parts or service for the Starcom system; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 33.066 Bid Exemption of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Purchasing Agent has made a determination based on previous bid exemptions (August 8, 2023) that there is only one source for the required goods, service or construction item; and

WHEREAS this unbudgeted expense will be funded by the budgeted contingency for unknown expenses; and

WHEREAS a line item transfer is required to categorize the expense correctly and move the funds into the Sheriff's budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc in Schaumburg, Illinois, in the amount of $269,570 for replacement of the Distributed Amplifier System for the Starcom radio network's Waukegan campus; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a line item transfer is authorized moving $269,570 ...
