* The County Board, at its October 11, 2016 meeting, approved an appropriation of $890,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds and a consultant engineering agreement with Alfred Benesch & Company, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, in the amount of $739,049, for Phase II engineering services for the intersection improvement of Illinois Route 59 at Grand Avenue in the Village of Fox Lake.
* Change orders need to be approved by standing committees for cumulative net increases over 10 percent.
* The sum of all contract change orders to date is $210,601, which represents a 28.5 percent increase over the original awarded contract amount.
* This project is included in the Transportation Improvement Program, and designated as Section 10-00279-01-CH.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, acting by and through its Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection improvement of Illinois Route 59 at Grand Avenue in the Village of Fox Lake, could be improved by a realignment inclusive of non-motorized improvements; and

WHEREAS, the County Board, at its meeting of October 11, 2016, approved an appropriation of $890,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for Phase II engineering services for the intersection improvement of Illinois Route 59 at Grand Avenue; and

WHEREAS, this project is currently under contract with Alfred Benesch & Company, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, in the amount of $810,659; and

WHEREAS, Change Order Number Two, in the amount of $138,991, is needed for additional Phase II engineering...
