Fiscal Year 2008 Emergency Appropriation- Nordstrom

We are pleased to bring forth a request for an emergency appropriation. This request covers 100% non-tax levy funds in the amount of $1,497,644.78. These funds are due to Primary Care’s involvement in a program with the Illinois Department of Public Aid called the Medicaid Federal Financial Participation Funding Initiative. These funds have been received and were not part of the 2008 fiscal year budget.
These funds are the reimbursement for the FY2006 expenses. We had previously received reimbursements for the years of 2001-2005. These funds have primarily been allocated to pay for the Grand Avenue construction projects.
We request these funds be designated for use in the construction projects and related expenses. The majority of the funds in the amount of $796,645.78 will be placed in the account for Buildings and Structures. The balance of the funds in the amount of $700,999 will be placed in the account for Building Rentals. This approximates the rental property-related expenses for the next 24 months.
Suggested Motion
To approve the appropriation of $1,497,644.78 in Medicaid Federal Financial Participation Funding Initiative funds in account 210-4010010-82010 in the amount of $796,645.78 and account 210-4010010-72510 in the amount of $700,999 and allow for expenditure of the funding for expenses related to the Grand Avenue Construction project and to recommend to the County Board an emergency appropriation be approved to add this amount to the Health Department’s budget for FY2008.
