Joint resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation for the Lake County Health Department in the amount of $1,732,583 in grant increases and other revenue increases for FY 2009.
Staff Summary
· The Health Department has been awarded two grant increases in the Community Health Service Area and increased revenue in the Administration Service Area.
· These funds have not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2009 budget.
· The grant increases and increased revenue for the Health Department totals $1,732,583 and a complete list of the sources of these funds is included in the resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has been awarded two grant increases and other revenue increases delivered by our Community Health and Administration Service Areas; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide a legitimate increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and
WHEREAS, these grant and additional funds totaling $1,732,583 have not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2009 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $1,732,583 is hereby authorized in the Health Department budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the revenue budgets as identified on the attached listing be modified as provided by increased funding from the following:
· Department of Health and Human Services, FOCUS, Families in our Communities United for Success $23,000.
· Illinois Department of Public Health, H1N1 PHER 3 Grant Increase $23,600;
