A resolution to amend an Ordinance establishing precinct boundaries.
Staff Summary
• Review of precinct boundaries by the County Clerk’s Office using GIS software indicated that boundaries should be adjusted in certain precincts.
• Adjusting the existing boundaries will establish boundaries which are consistent with statutory requirements and County Board policy.
• Adjustments will result in precinct boundaries matching Ascend Township data.
• The adjustment will affect approximately 10 parcels; no voters would be affected by the change.
Body
WHEREAS, Lake County has 481 voting precincts in 18 townships; and
WHEREAS, a review of said precinct boundaries by the County Clerk’s Office using GIS software indicated that boundaries should be adjusted in certain precincts; and
WHEREAS, adjusting the existing boundaries will establish boundaries which are consistent with statutory requirements and County Board policy; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that Benton Township Precinct 56 be adjusted to conform with township boundaries; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that Cuba Township Precinct 67 be adjusted to conform with township boundaries; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that Grant Township Precinct 129 be adjusted to conform with township boundaries; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that Zion Township Precincts 433, 441, 445 be adjusted to conform with municipal and township boundaries; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Ordinance Establishing Precinct Boundaries be amended to adjust existing precinct boundaries effective immediately, and to describe and name said precincts in accordance with the attachments which are made part of this Resolution.
