· In July 2013, there was a need to make any emergency repair to the sanitary sewer on Illinois Route 53 in Long Grove to avoid sewer overflows and backups.
· The Director of Public works declared that an emergency condition existed, necessitating immediate action.
· The Purchasing Agent issued an emergency purchase order to Insituform Technologies USA, LLC for the repair of the sanitary sewer.
· The cost of the repair was $43,639.20 and this resolution seeks ratification of the emergency repair cost.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County), through its Department of Public Works owns, operates and maintains sanitary sewer systems throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, the sanitary sewer which crosses Illinois Route 53 near Old McHenry Road experienced severe back-ups and overflows creating an emergency situation; and
WHEREAS, inspections and televising of the sewers by Public Works staff indicated severe damage to the sanitary sewer necessitating immediate repairs; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Public Works Director declared that an emergency existed and in order to address the emergency the Purchasing Agent issued a purchase order to Insituform Technologies USA, LLC, to repair the sanitary sewer on Illinois Route 53 in Long Grove; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Emergency Procurement authorized by the Director of Public Works with Insituform Technologies USA, LLC of Chesterfield, Missouri in the amount of $43,639.20 is ratified.
