Title
Resolution to approve the revised Lake County Emergency Operations Plan and accept related memoranda of understanding and agreements.

Staff Summary
· Laws of the State of Illinois and Rules and Regulations of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency require each county to have an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that is reviewed and revised every two years.
· The Lake Count Emergency Management Team worked over the course of last year to revise the County’s EOP by simplifying and streamlining, and to the extent possible by aligning the emergency responsibilities of County Departments with their routine day-to-day duties.
· The Lake County EOP includes the written plan, functional and hazard-specific annexes, and a variety of resource documents. Resource documents include contact lists for specific equipment and materials, contact information for public and private organizations, hazard vulnerability assessments, maps, and a variety of memoranda of understanding and mutual aid agreements.
· The Illinois Emergency Management Agency has reviewed and approved the revised draft EOP for Lake County.
· Upon its formal adoption, training and exercising of the revised plan and resource materials will be conducted to evaluate and improve the County’s preparedness.
· In support of the EOP, it is appropriate for Lake County to formally document our partnerships through written memoranda of understanding and agreements with related organizations, including the American Red Cross, the Metropolitan Emergency Support Services, the Illinois Emergency Management Mutual Aid System, and the Lake County All-Hazards Incident Management Team.
