* In September 2023, the Sheriff's Office reapplied for the Illinois State Opioid Response Criminal Justice Medication Assisted Treatment Integration Grant.
* The Sheriff's Office received notification on September 22, 2023, that it had been awarded an additional $30,000 to continue the current Vivitrol Program in place at the Lake County Jail, for substance abuse groups/counseling at the Lake County Jail or for Narcan Training for inmates at the Lake County Jail.
* The Sheriff's Office will use the grant funds to pay for Vivitrol, a medication that will be administered by the contracted jail medical provider. Vivitrol is an extended- release injectable suspension medication to treat opioid dependence.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff's Office reapplied for and was awarded the Illinois State Opioid Response Criminal Justice Medication Assisted Treatment Integration Grant in the amount of $30,000; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff's Office submitted a grant request to use the funds towards continuing the Vivitrol program to reduce opioid dependence of inmates currently incarcerated in the jail in the amount of $30,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board, the Lake County Sheriff, and the Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to approve an emergency appropriation in the amount of $30,000 and execute the necessary documentation to accept the Illinois State Opioid Response Criminal Justice Medication Assisted Treatment Integration Grant; and
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that an emergency appropriation for the grant in the amount of $30,00 is hereby authorized as follows:
