Staff Summary
• On September 14, 2021 the County Board approved a Resolution establishing a Paid Parental Leave Policy and benefit for County Employees.
• As staff implemented the new benefit, they noted language in the Policy that was confusing.
• Staff discussed and reviewed recommended revisions to the Paid Parent Leave Policy with the Finance & Administrative Committee on December 2, 2021.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Human Resources Department will periodically review and recommend updates to employee policies in accordance with current best practices; and
WHEREAS, The County’s current Paid Parental Leave policy includes language that requires further clarification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the revisions to the Paid Parental Leave policy, in the Employee Policies and Procedures manual herewith be approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Human Resources Director is directed to implement these Policy revisions upon adoption by the board.
