Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago, Pop Affirming Care and HIV Testing $12,550 - Grant Increase Approval - Kritz

Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center received an increase in grant funding through the Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago, Pop Affirming Care, of $12,550 for a total award between HIV Testing and POP Affirming Care in the amount of $19,550. The period of performance is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. $2,500 will be appropriated in FY25 and $10,050 in FY26 with the difference, $7,000, already being accounted for in FY26 budget. The purpose of the Pop Affirming Care funding is to support staff training to strengthen the organization’s capacity to provide affirming, culturally responsive care for LGBTQ+ individuals, including those disproportionately impacted by HIV. The purpose of the HIV Testing funding is to support routine and targeted HIV screening activities to identify new infections and link individuals to care. This will fund supplies, contractual services, training, and offset existing staff salary and fringe benefits.

To approve the Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago, Pop-Affirming Care and HIV Testing grant increase funding of $12,550 and emergency appropriate $2,500 for FY25 and $10,050 for FY26.
