· NPDES Phase II Year 7 Required Work
· In accordance with the Lake County National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Phase II Year 7 program requirements for illicit discharge detection and elimination of minimum controls, Lake County is required to visually inspect all storm sewer system discharge points each year for signs of illicit discharges and place informational storm water inlet markings at existing inlet locations on the county highway system.
· This resolution appropriates $20,000 County Bridge tax funds for this purpose.
Body
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation maintains many miles of storm sewers in order to provide adequate storm water drainage to the County Highway system; and
WHEREAS, the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Phase II (NPDES - II) mandates annual visual inspections of discharges from said storm water drainage systems for the purpose of detection of illicit discharges; and
WHEREAS, NPDES - II requires the placement of drainage system markers; and
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation, desires to acquire engineering services of the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission in order to accomplish the visual inspections of all storm sewer system discharge points servicing the county highway systems of Lake County; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide for these engineering services and acquisition of mandated drainage system markers an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated $20,000 of County Bridge tax funds to provide for said engineering services for the visual inspection of all storm sewer system discharge point...
