Joint Resolution Authorizing Execution of a Restated and Amended Agreement for Sewage Disposal and Certain Special Services with the Village of Riverwoods.
Staff Summary
· The Village of Riverwoods has requested consideration of a restated and amended agreement for sewage disposal services performed by the County to improve and address long term monetary needs and service provisions.
· The County and the Village have previously entered into an Agreement for Sewage Disposal, dated April 18, 1972, pursuant to which the Village's sewer system is delivering sewage to the County's interceptors for treatment at the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility.
· The prior Sewage Agreement is scheduled to expire within four years and both parties desire to amend and restate its terms in their entirety.
· The amended agreement will provide for a defined service area, make provisions for collection of a replacement charge to the Village, incorporate the newest County ordinances for Fats, Oils and Grease handling, address connection fees to both the Village and the County, and proposes to extend the term of the agreement for 20 years with a 10 year extension.
· Committee authorization is requested to Execute the Restated and Amended Agreement for Sewage Disposal and Certain Special Services with the Village of Riverwoods.
