* If funding for the position ends, and new funding is not secured, the position will be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Attorney General's Office has renewed a 12-month continuation of the Violent Crime Victim Assistance (VCVA) grant for the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center (LCCAC) program to provide Spanish speaking forensic interviews and advocacy services to child victims of crime during the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the emergency appropriation for the grant funds of $82,000 are awarded to the LCCAC, an Illinois not-for-profit as a charitable organization subject to Illinois' Charitable Trust Act and will provide the salary and partial benefits for the existing Bilingual Victim Advocate/Forensic Interviewer;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the renewal as described herein.
