Staff Summary
·      The Lake County Sustainable Food Systems team received a Local Technical Assistance award from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) in order to identify potential mechanisms to expand and enhance local food systems in Lake County.
·      The team includes representatives from Conserve Lake County, the Liberty Prairie Foundation, Openlands, Lake County, Lake County Forest Preserve, Libertyville Township, the College of Lake County, and private farmers.
·      The Lake County Sustainable Food Systems team presented the final report containing the results of their analysis and corresponding recommendations for further development of local food systems in Lake County to the Planning, Building and Zoning Committee on May 7, 2013.  
·      For informational purposes, members of the Team will present the Sustainable Local Food Systems report.
