Staff Summary

·      DCEO has provided reallocated funds under the Workforce Investment Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $367,676.

·      The grant is for the term of July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013, and is to be used for training adults and dislocated workers.

·      An emergency appropriation of $367,676 for County fiscal year 2012 is requested to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department's budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.

Body

WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a grant under the Workforce Investment Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $367,676.

WHEREAS,  the grant is for the fiscal year July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013, for training for adult and dislocated workers.

WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $367,676 is requested to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department's county fiscal year 2012 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $367,676 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the Workforce Investment Act grant is hereby accepted.  A chart of accounts is attached.
