Staff Summary
·      Washington Street Resurfacing: Appropriation.
·      Washington Street, from the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge to Illinois Route 131, is in need of resurfacing.
·      This resurfacing improvement has been identified within the County's pavement management system, and is included in the 2014 Highway Improvement Program.
·      Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $1,400,000 of Matching Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
 
WHEREAS, Washington Street, County Highway 45, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
 
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Washington Street, from the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge to Illinois Route 131, could be resurfaced; and
 
WHEREAS, plans, specifications, and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and
 
WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, to hereby appropriate $1,400,000 of Matching Tax funds for the resurfacing of Washington Street, from the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge to Illinois Route 131, and designated as Section 13-00220-07-RS.
