Staff Summary

•                     In September 2009, the County Board awarded a Brownfield grant for $100,000 to the Village of Lake Zurich for environmental remediation at 61 W. Main Street.

•                     The Brownfield grant agreement was granted an extension in September 2010, and will expire in September 21, 2011.

•                     Both the Village and the contractor have completed their work on the site; however, prior to the Village submitting final payment, the contractor filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which was subsequently denied and the company went into receivership.

•                     The Village is requesting an additional three month extension to their grant to resolve the final payment with the company through the receivership process. 

•                     A representative from the Village will be available to answer questions.
