We have completed a multi-phase process in the search for a new Director of Primary Care, and I am pleased to recommend to you the appointment of Sarah Allen as the new Director, effective October 13th, 2008.
Sarah has her Masters of Science degree in Community Health, and joins us with 14 years experience as CEO at Canyonlands Community Health Center, a FQHC in Arizona with nine primary care clinics. Holding positions previously as a former president of the Arizona Public Health Association, Vice President of the Arizona Association of Community Health Centers, Executive Director of the Maricopa Area Health Education and AIDS Training Center and Deputy Director for Public Health at the Arizona Department of Health Services, Sarah brings a wealth of experience and exposure at County, State and Federal levels. She has experience in clinical operations, electronic medical record implementation, strategic planning, organizational development, board and community development and consensus building and the Joint Commission Accreditation process. Additionally her organizations have been leaders in quality initiatives related to immunizations and diabetes.
On her tours during the interview process, she was thoroughly impressed by the staff that she came in contact with and could see that warm and welcoming manner in which she was treated, would definitely be something also experienced by patients.
