Staff Summary

•                     The Illinois Court Technology Modernization Program Funding Agreement will provide technology enhancements to the 19^th Judicial Circuit Court.

•                     Additional technology modernization will include wayfinding kiosks, court interpreter sound devices, enhance statistical court reporting, and electronic filing, and paperless processing.

•                     ADA accommodation for hearing impairment.

•                     The Illinois Court Technology Modernization Program funding period is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Supreme Court of Illinois has provided a Court Technology Modernization Program Funding Agreement totaling $153,006.57 to the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit; and

WHEREAS, the Illinois Court Technology Modernization Program Funding Agreement will provide technology enhancements to the 19^th Judicial Circuit Court; and

WHEREAS, additional technology modernization will include wayfinding kiosks, court interpreter sound devices, enhance statistical court reporting, and electronic filing, and paperless processing; and

WHEREAS, ADA accommodation for hearing impairment; and

WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $153,006.57 is requested to allocate these funds into the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit county fiscal year 2024 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board authorizes an emergency appropriation in the amount of $153,006.57 to implement the Supreme Court of Illinois Court Technology Modernization Program Funding Agreement for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
