Staff Summary
· Consultant study of alternate organizational and funding structures to deliver transportation services to seniors and persons with disabilities or medical needs.
· The study will develop a countywide Paratransit Transportation Plan.
· The RTA grant which is funding 80% of the cost will be extended in time, but not cost, and will include implementation recommendations.
· The consultant contract needs to be extended for one year through August 20, 2011 in order to match the RTA grant period and perform the work.
· This change is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interests of the County.

RE: Contract Extension for Para-transit Transportation Plan
1. In July 2009 Lake County approved a resolution to enter into a one-year contract with TranSystems Corporation, Chicago, Illinois for consultant services
2. The services are used by the Division of Transportation for the review of alternate organizational and funding structures to deliver transportation services to meet the needs of seniors and persons with disabilities or medical needs and to develop a countywide Paratransit Transportation Plan.
3. There is a need to extend the current agreement with TranSystems Corporation, Chicago, Illinois for one year through August 20, 2011 in order to match the RTA grant period. TranSystems Corporation has agreed to this extension.
6. This change is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interests of the County.
