Title

Presentation outlining the progress of the water and sewer rate and connection fees study.

Staff Summary

Staff has continued to work with professional consultants Burns and McDonnell to determine appropriate connection fees.

Analysis indicates that in order to cover the cost of future growth across the County’s water and sewer systems, it is necessary to increase connection fees.

Staff has worked to develop two options for the Committee to consider. Option One: Immediate implementation of the maximum recommended charge and Option Two: Phased implementation reflecting 10 percent per year until maximum recommended fee is reached.

Staff is requesting final direction on which connection fee option to implement.

Based on direction from the committee, staff will propose a new Rate Ordinance (Chapter 51) establishing all water and sewer user rates and connection fees for the County’s water and sewer systems.
