Staff Summary
* The Health Department received $147,152 in additional grant funding for the period of March 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, which was not previously appropriated because the grant resources were approved after the County's adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
* This funding is to support medical and non-medical case management staff who provide care coordination, service linkage, and support services for individuals living with HIV to improve health outcomes and retention in care.
* This will continue to fund three positions, supplies, and telecommunications.
* If funding for the positions and services end, and new funding is not secured, the positions and services will be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a grant increase delivered by our Prevention Unit; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide an increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and
WHEREAS, the additional funding amount totaling $147,152 for the period of March 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, has not been previously appropriated, having been approved after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $147,152 is hereby authorized in the Health Department Fiscal Year 2025 budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and
