Joint Resolution authorizing an agreement for consulting engineering services between Lake County and McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois, for the provision of Phase II design engineering for the proposed resurfacings of Fairfield Road from Illinois Route 176 to Old McHenry Road; Old McHenry Road from US Route 12 to Quentin Road; and Gilmer Road from Diamond Lake Road to IL Route 83 and appropriates $120,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 08-00999-01-RS.

· Consulting engineering services will be utilized to prepare plans, specifications and estimates of costs for these roadway resurfacings for a 2009 letting.
· The selected and recommended consultant is McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois at a maximum cost of services of $99,553.80.
· The appropriation is $120,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 08-00999-01-RS.

WHEREAS, Fairfield Road (County Highway 49) from Illinois Route 176 to Old McHenry Road (County Highway 32); Old McHenry Road (County Highway 32) from US Route 12 to Quentin Road (County Highway 5); and Gilmer Road (County Highway 26) from Diamond Lake Road (County Highway 64) to IL Route 83 are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the above-said county highways as described could be resurfaced; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consulting engineering firm be employed to provide Phase II engineering services (Design Engineering); and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.)
