Staff Summary
* The Health Department received $75,988 in additional grant funding for the period of September 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, which was not previously appropriated because the grant resources were approved after the County's adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
* This funding is to support the purchase of vaccines to reduce and prevent vaccine-preventable infections among clients living with HIV and to mitigate the risk of syndemic co-morbidities and potential outbreaks through increased vaccination access.
* This will fund program supplies and vaccines.
* If funding for the positions and services end, and new funding is not secured, the positions and services will be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a grant increase delivered by our Prevention Unit; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide an increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and
WHEREAS, the additional funding amount totaling $75,988 for the period of September 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, has not been previously appropriated, having been approved after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $75,988 is hereby authorized in the Health Department Fiscal Year 2026 budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and
