Staff Summary

•                     The Forest Preserve District is performing a controlled burn of vegetation at the Heron Creek Forest Preserve, which surrounds the County’s Ela Lift Station property.

•                     The Forest Preserve District requested permission to perform the controlled burn on a portion of the Ela Lift Station property and proposed a MOU that indemnifies and protects the County.

•                     The MOU carries a 5-year term, which would allow the Forest Preserve to perform additional controlled burns.

•                     Committee approval is requested authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute the MOU with the Lake County Forest Preserve District.
