Staff Summary

                     U.S. Route 45; IL Route 132 to IL Route 173 Millburn Bypass, Phase I: LCDOT Change Order No. 1

                     Change Orders need to be approved by the standing committees for cumulative net increases over 10%.

                     The U.S. Route 45 - Millburn Community Preservation Bypass Improvement (Phase I Study) is under contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., in the amount of $1,780,405.

                     Additional engineering services are being required by IDOT and FHWA to have the Environmental Assessment portion of the Phase I study cover all of U.S. Route 45 from IL Route 132 to IL Route 173 to ensure logical project termini are addressed. 

                     IDOT will be starting a Phase I study for the said length of US Rte. 45 in the future and will reimburse Lake County for this change order No. 1 cost at a later date (see attached letter).

                     This is in addition to the original scope of work as detailed in the attached Supplemental Agreement No. 1. Summary: Original awarded contract: $1,780,405.00; Change Order No. 1: $312,256.06; Sum of all changes: $312,256.06.
