RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Attorney General's Office has renewed a 12-month continuation of the Violent Crime Victim Assistance (VCVA) grant for the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center (LCCAC) to provide Spanish speaking forensic interviews and advocacy services to child victims of crime during the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds in the amount of $74,520 are awarded to the LCCAC, an Illinois not-for-profit, as a charitable organization subject to Illinois' Charitable Trust Act will provide the salary and partial benefits for the existing Bilingual Victim Advocate/Forensic Interviewer; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the renewal as described herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Program Agreement with the Illinois Attorney General's Office for the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center to provide forensic interviews and advocacy services to child victims as set forth by the National Children's Alliance Standards, for the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, is hereby accepted; and
