Staff Summary
· As part of an Agreed Order entered into between the County, the Village of Mettawa and Millineum Maintenance, Inc. the County has agreed to make improvements to the existing W.W. Grainger lift station and force main system to accommodate projected flows identified in the Agreed Order.
· These improvements will require engineering plans and specifications be prepared by a qualified professional engineering firm.
· Three engineering firms were selected to submit qualifications for this design work.
· Based on staff evaluations, Manhard Consulting, Ltd. of Waukegan, IL is the most qualified firm and a scope of services was negotiated for this project.
· Committee authorization is requested to execute an Agreement for Professional Engineering Services with Manhard Consulting, Ltd. in the amount of $147,290 for the design and drawing preparation of the W.W. Grainger Lift Station and Force Main Improvements Project, charging the cost thereof to Account No. 610-4833198-71170-48310.

WHEREAS, an Agreed Order between Millineum Maintenance Management, Inc., Capital Development Group, LLC, Village of Mettawa, Deerpath Farms Subdivision, LLC, Fred Baird, and County of Lake was executed by County Board action at the July 8, 2008 meeting; and

WHEREAS, the Agreed order reflected certain terms and facility improvements would be made to the County's W.W. Grainger Lift Station and Force Main to accommodate flows from parcels included in the Agreed Order, and; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to prepare engineering plans and specifications by a qualified professional engineering firm for such improvements; and
