Wholesale Sanitary Sewer Rate and Connection Fee Increases (Information only)
Staff Summary
• We recently received notification from North Shore Sanitary District (NSSD) of their annual increase to our sewer rate and connection fee for our customers in the Northeast Central (NEC) service area.
• Per the notification requirements in our sewer agreements with Grayslake, Gurnee, Hainseville, and Waukegan, we have sent letters notifying them of the upcoming increases.
• The resolutions increasing the connection fee and the wholesale sewer rate will be presented at the September 2, 2009 PWT meeting, with subsequent consideration by the County Board on September 8, 2009.
• The NEC wholesale sewer rate will increase from $3.24 to $3.52 per 1,000 gallons and the NEC connection rate increases from $2,740 to $2,828 per residential equivalence (RE).
• The new rates will be effective as of November 1, 2009.
