· Non-Motorized Travel 2013, Cedar Lake Road Sidewalk Improvement: Construction Appropriation.
· The 2010 Non-Motorized Travel Study included a Gap Analysis that identified areas along Cedar Lake Road with gaps in non-motorized facilities.
· This project is for the construction of a municipal sidewalk on the east side of Cedar Lake Road, from Washington Street to Park Road, and the installation of ADA ramps.
· This sidewalk will be maintained by the Village of Round Lake after completion.
· Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $175,000 of County Bridge Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, non-motorized travel on the County highway system affects the safety and welfare of the motoring public; and

WHEREAS, non-motorized travel on the County highway system is increasing as the County becomes more urbanized; and

WHEREAS, Cedar Lake Road, County Highway 28, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

WHEREAS, the 2010 Non-Motorized Travel Study included a Gap Analysis that identified a gap in the municipal sidewalk system along the east side of Cedar Lake Road, from Washington Street to Park Road; and

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the motoring and non-motoring public if Cedar Lake Road, from Washington Street to Park Road, could be improved with the installation of a municipal sidewalk; and

WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Round Lake has indicated their willingness to be responsible for the maintenance of the new sidewalk in their community; and
