* The Lake County State's Attorney's Office (LCSAO) has been awarded $121,071 as interim funding until the Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance Program grant is awarded sometime in 2024.
* The grant term is being extended November 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024. The original term ended April 30, 2024.
* No additional funding has been awarded.
* If grant funding for the position and services end, and new funding is not secured, the position and services will be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County State's Attorney's Office has been authorized to receive a five-month extension for our Highland Park victim assistance program by the Victim of Crime Act for an extended time period of November 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024, in the amount of $121,071; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County State's Attorney's Office will use this funding to implement its Victim Assistance Program through both a contracted Victim Liaison, and Social Worker; and
WHEREAS, the grant extension must be formally accepted by Lake County and it is necessary to appropriate the grant extension funding; and
WHEREAS, the State's Attorney's Office recommends that the Chair of the County Board, the State's Attorney and the Treasurer be authorized to execute the necessary documents to accept and execute the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the grant awarded to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office by VOCA is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, funding in the amount of $121,071 is already appropriated for the VOCA Highland Park Victim Assistance Grant in expenditure accounts 51110, 74080, 74100, 74110, 61020 and 72830 with offsetting revenue in the account of 101-3330060-45334; and
