Resolution renaming an existing roadway in the area commonly known as Hickory Knoll Subdivision in unincorporated West Deerfield Township.
Staff Summary
* This is part of the County's dual addressing program.
* It is desirous to rename the road type in this area to better facilitate address administration, reduce confusion for first responders, and improve overall wayfinding by establishing a consistent road name.
* Agency coordination and public outreach has been ongoing and includes residents, West Deerfield Township, emergency services, and the United States Post Office.
* The new signage will be installed upon approval by the County Board.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, in the interest of improved address administration, and at the request of public safety agencies, the following road name change is required in the area commonly known as Hickory Knoll Subdivision, as depicted on the attached map; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Chief County Assessment Office, has researched the roadway name residents presently utilize and recommends and supports above said change; and
WHEREAS, the road name change will reduce confusion for responding emergency services by establishing a consistent road name in the area; and
WHEREAS, Lake County has the power and authority to change the name of
said streets by virtue of 55 ILCS 5/5-1067.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following change in road name be made:
Existing Name
New Name
Montgomery Road
Montgomery Drive
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief County Assessment Office, in cooperation with Lake County GIS, is hereby authorized and directed to notify the landowners adjacent to said roadway, West Deerfield Township, the County Engineer, the County Treasurer's Office, the County Recorder of Deeds, the County Clerk, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the United States Post Office, School Districts, Emergency Response Personnel, and others deemed necessary, of said name cha...
