Report on a draft agreement with the Village of Mettawa relating to delivery of water service to certain properties along St. Mary's Road.
Staff Summary
· The Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA) previously authorized the County to provide water to the Village of Mettawa through the County's Knollwood/Rondout water system.
· Certain properties within Mettawa approached the Village and requested Lake Michigan water service.
· The Village established a Special Service Area (SSA) to fund the water system improvements and will design and construct the water system extension to County specifications, for subsequent ownership by the County.
· An agreement for retail water services between the County and the Village has been drafted that establishes the rights and responsibilities of the parties regarding the SSA and the design, construction, ownership and operation of the water system.
· Committee input is requested.
