Joint resolution authorizing the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) for Retail Sanitary Sewer and Water Supply Services to the Village of Grayslake.
Staff Summary
* The County and the Village have previously entered into an Agreement for Water and Sewer Service, dated April 9, 1985, which was amended six times prior to its expiration on April 9, 2015.
* Under the previous Agreement and Amendments, the County provided retail water and sewer services to various parcels within the Village.
* The Village has submitted a request to the County to expand the availability of the County's retail sanitary sewer and water supply services within the Village Retail Service Area and desires to enter into a new agreement to continue to secure a long-term source for retail water and sewer services to various parcels within the Village.
* The Village of Grayslake approved the IGA at their Village Board meeting on February 3, 2026.
* This resolution authorizes the execution of the IGA between the County and the Village of Grayslake.
* In accordance with County Board Rules, the State's Attorney's Office has reviewed this Intergovernmental Agreement prior to action by the County Board.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates a drinking water and sanitary sewer system which serves portions of the Village of Grayslake (Village); and
WHEREAS, the County and the Village entered into an Agreement for Water and Sewer Service, dated April 9, 1985, which was amended six times prior to its expiration on April 9, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Village desires the County to continue to provide retail water and sewer services to various parcels within the Village and has requested the County to expand the availability of the County's retail sanitary sewer and water supply services within the Village; and
