Resolution authorizing application for three grants from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity “Public Sector Electric Efficiency Program” for which the County is eligible based on certain energy efficient components currently included in certain County facility construction projects.
Staff Summary
· This resolution authorizes Lake County to make 3 applications for available DCEO grant funds related to energy efficient installations to certain lighting, HVAC and refrigeration components and motors in county facilities.
· One grant is for the Public Defender’s Remodeling at 15 S County Street for a total of $3,907.
· One grant is for Central Permit Facility at 500 W Winchester Road for a total of $12,492.
· One grant is for Lake County Health Department Facility at 3010 Grand Ave for a total of $11,600.
· Finance and Administrative Services and the Health Department has reviewed equipment and system improvements eligible for grant funding including locations, types of equipment and costs and determined these energy efficient measures are eligible under the terms of these grants and in the best interest of the County.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Lake County is eligible and desires to apply for certain energy efficient grants currently available from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity “Public Sector Electric Efficiency Program”; and

WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Finance & Administrative Services and Health Department facilities and construction management divisions proposes to implement certain energy efficient measures, including equipment replacement; and

WHEREAS, the installation of certain replacement equipment and alteration to environmental systems in pursuit of energy efficiency is in the best interest of the County and is eligible under these grants.
