Presentation on dark sky lighting in unincorporated Lake County.
Staff Summary
• Staff will present this topic to the Planning, Building, Zoning and Environment Committee in a two-part series of discussions, ultimately leading to development of a dark sky ordinance draft for future Board action.
• First, at the Committee’s August 30 meeting, staff will introduce research summarizing the benefits of dark sky, along with examples of dark sky best practices.
• Following the August 30 informational presentation, a second Committee presentation and discussion will be scheduled for a later date to discuss specific policy options and obtain direction to draft corresponding regulations for the Committee’s subsequent review and action.
