Staff Summary

                     On October 26, 2008 a water main ruptured in Gages Lake flooding a residence at 33706 Lake Shore Drive, Wildwood, IL.

                     This emergency condition necessitated water mitigation services including removal of the homeowners personal belongings, storage, cleaning and reconstruction services.

                     Lake County did not have the resources available to provide the necessary services.

                     This resolution is to ratify an Emergency Procurement authorized by the Director of Human Resources with United Services of Permaco, Lake Bluff, IL, in the amount of $58,980.89.

                     The purchase was charged to account #206-1440010-71420-000-000-000-00000.

 

Body

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, an emergency condition existed due to a water main rupture in Gages Lake on October 26, 2008, and

 

WHEREAS, the water main rupture flooded the residence at 33706 Lake Shore Drive, Wildwood, Il, and there was a need for water mitigation services including removal of the homeowners personal belongings, storage, cleaning and reconstruction services to mitigate the water damage; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County did not have the resources available to perform the necessary services; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources certified that an emergency condition existed necessitating immediate action; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent issued an Emergency Purchase Order for the services.

 

                                          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the Emergency Procurement authorized by the Director of Human Resources with United Services by Permaco, Lake Bluff, IL in the amount of $58,980.89 for water mitigation services charged to account #206-1440010-71420-000-000-000-00000 is ratified.
